Issued: January 20, 2023

What is happening?

Beginning Jan. 23, 2023, Partners’ providers will use TruCare’s ProAuth platform for prior authorizations. This means providers will no longer submit prior authorizations through Alpha+ beginning 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 23.

On Monday morning, providers will need to log in to ProAuth through ProviderCONNECT to submit authorization requests. If there are any changes in the launch of ProAuth, Partners will notify providers via a Provider Alert email prior to Monday morning.

Partners has posted on-demand webinar training for providers on TruCare’s ProAuth platform. Providers may register for and complete the training using this link:

Why is this happening?
As Partners moves toward operating a Tailored Plan, it is necessary to have a platform that incorporates behavioral and physical health authorization requests. ProAuth will allow Partners to support members’ integrated health needs.

What is the impact to providers?
Beginning Jan. 23 at 8 a.m., providers will no longer use Alpha+ to submit prior authorization requests. (Providers will continue to submit all behavioral health claims and State-funded claims through Alpha+). Providers will access the ProAuth system through ProviderCONNECT.

What must providers do?
Providers will need to complete ProAuth training by registering and watching the on-demand webinar at:

https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5761252241289114201

*Please allow two hours for the training and be sure to complete the training prior to 8 a.m. on Jan. 23, 2023.

What if providers have open prior authorizations prior to Jan. 23, 2023?
For prior authorization requests that are submitted in Alpha+ prior to 8 a.m. on January 2023, the authorization will be processed in Alpha+.

All prior authorization requests submitted after 8 a.m. on January 23 will need to be submitted in ProAuth.

For authorizations which have not expired, a new prior authorization request in not needed until the next concurrent authorization is submitted. Providers should submit all future initial and concurrent authorizations in ProAuth.

What if providers have questions?
Providers may submit questions via email at: ProAuth@PartnersBHM.org.

Providers may also call the Provider Support Line at 1-877-398-4145, Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
