The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) released an update for October 2016 that impacts the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services Benefit Plan-Diagnosis Array. There were additions to mental health/substance use disorders which include subcategories that will provide greater opportunities for identifying the occurrence of specific disorders. Several ICD-10 codes were also discontinued.
The State funded Benefit Plan-Diagnosis Array has been updated to reflect the October 2016 updates and can be found on DHM’s website at http://www.ncdhhs.gov/providers/provider-info/health-care/nctracks, located under FY17 Documents. There is a tab in the workbook that lists the changes, labeled “Revisions Oct 2016”. The revisions are also included by Benefit Plan on the other tabs.
